Rita oversees claims administration and litigation from initial coverage and

claims analysis through resolution, including management of outside counsel, negotiations, mediations and reporting.

Rita has over 10 years of experience as an attorney handling family law

matters, civil litigation, regulatory compliance, insurance coverage disputes, policy interpretation, risk management, commercial litigation and complex litigation involving employment benefit plans.  Prior to joining TransEleven, she was a partner with Hinshaw & Culbertson (Hinshaw Law), a Chicago-based top 100 national firm with specialties in the insurance, financial and professional services sectors.  As Partner and Senior Counsel she focused on complex litigation including defending employee welfare benefit plans and their insurers, administrators and other plan fiduciaries in ERISA and non-ERISA matters.

​Rita has extensive experience in regulatory, state and federal administrative frameworks.  She has worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Circuit Court of Cook County/Chicago.  By judicial appointment, she also served as Judicial Law Clerk for the Illinois Appellate Court in Chicago.  As Law Clerk, she advised judges on complex civil litigation matters, researched and analyzed complex statutory and regulatory issues (civil and criminal) and drafted orders and memoranda that guided court decisions in both procedural and substantive civil matters.

Rita has also worked as an Associate Attorney for two Chicago law firms litigating civil matters and as an E-Discovery Attorney, where she conducted large-scale document review in complex litigation, including privilege analysis, confidentiality assessments and review of regulatory-sensitive materials.
